ALPHA OMEGA EMG
Mobile Soft Tissue Diagnostics
WHAT IS CMAP PRO?
CMAP Pro is a high spatial resolution sEMG that combines several AMA recommended protocols including functional capacity, pinch, lift and grip strength measurements, as well as video, audio, and range of motion data collection. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of Soft Tissue Injuries (STIs). Data is collected while muscles are in motion which can often times enhance, confirm or pinpoint issues not always apparent when using static protocols such as MRI, CT, or X-ray. CMAP Pro is the only protocol specifically mentioned by name in the Official Disability Guidelines (OGD) for functional capacity testing.
THE BENEFITS
Alpha Omega EMG is passionate about providing high quality diagnostics to physicians and patients to improve patient care and soft tissue injury outcomes. When combined with Physical Therapy, sEMG has a 94-97% sensitivity for evaluation of muscular performance. This allows physicians and therapists to pinpoint specific damaged muscles and provide the most appropriate and effective treatment plan.
As an evidence-based assessment tool, CMAP Pro:
o Gathers objective data to augment practitioners’ clinical expertise
o Captures the activity and function of specific muscle and nerve groups
o Ensures accuracies and consistencies through standardized protocols
o Generates dynamic considerations to complement static tests such as MRIs, CT scans and X-rays
o Features non-invasive and non-loading assessments
o Chronicles video during patient evaluation

CMAP Pro affords physicians, patients, self-‐insured entities, care and claims/leave management professionals the ability to obtain objective, as well as clinically relevant STI data. It combines several American Medical Association (AMA) recommended protocols including functional capacity, pinch, lift & grip strength measurements, range of motion and high spatial resolution sEMG. CMAP Pro augments clinical expertise by gathering data while muscles are in motion and also gauges sincerity of effort. Because CMAP Pro protocols are bi-‐lateral, its more comprehensive findings enhance, confirm or pinpoint issues not always apparent when using X-‐rays, MRIs or CTs.
Prior to the advent of CMAP Pro, there were few to no solutions to objectively assess soft tissue pathology, maximal patient effort and quantify functional capabilities. Findings and benefits associated with our unique technology have been validated through published clinical studies and featured in several peer reviewed journal articles. In the hands of licensed medical professionals, CMAP Pro objective information:
a. Helps doctors more accurately diagnose claims – leading to more targeted treatment plans
b. Reduces overall costs associated with occupational and non-‐occupational injuries/illness
c. Provides Objective Evidence – expediting Return-‐to-‐Productivity
d. Quantifies ROM and strength to assist in making Disability Determination
e. Confirms patient’s sincerity of effort while capturing Capabilities versus Restrictions
** CMAP Pro is specifically referenced in Official Disability Guidelines under Functional
Capacity Exam and Fitness for Duty.
THE PROCESS
What You Do
Determine if your patient can benefit from having a CMAP Pro test and write an order
Give us the patient name and insurance information
Schedule an appointment for the patient to come in and get the test done
What we do
Get prior authorization from the patient’s insurance company
Come into your office at the time of the patient’s appointment and perform the test (30-60 min)
Send the data to a CMAP doctor (MD) for interpretation and generation of a report (much like an imaging report)
Send this report to your office for follow-up with the patient
How does this benefit your patient?
They receive an FDA cleared and UL approved test that is covered by insurance (little to no out of pocket cost to the patient)
It provides them with objective evidence of a specific muscle/soft tissue injury
Increases the likelihood of a speedy recovery by pinpointing injury
How does this benefit you?
Increases patient retention by providing an in house service
Confirms/aids in diagnosis which allows for more targeted treatment plans by you and the physical therapist
Provides you with a detailed report of objective evidence substantiating your treatment plan
Provides additional revenue for you and your practice
There is absolutely NO cost to you

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Josh Lane, MD was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ where he excelled in athletics and academia at an early age. He graduated at the top of his high school class and also earned all-state and all American honors for both football and soccer, respectively.
Josh elected to stay close to home and attended Arizona State University where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he spent summers travelling the world and provided health care and public health awareness to the people of Mexico, Guatemala, and Papua New Guinea. Witnessing poverty, abuse, and affliction firsthand, he made the decision to pursue a career in health care.
After graduating from ASU, he attended St. George’s University where he earned his Doctorate degree in Medicine. While in medical school, he spent time in Guatemala, St. Vincent, and England learning different cultural approaches and philosophies to patient care. He also assisted in several humanitarian efforts following hurricanes, landslides, and earthquakes which allowed him realize the value and fragility of human life while at the same time observing the power of healing and hope.
Once his doctorate degree was finished, Josh returned home to Arizona where he joined CDC-INFO in an effort to help promote public health awareness. In three years at CDC-INFO, Josh was promoted to a management position where he directed a team of healthcare professionals who were responsible for providing health information nationwide for public health officials and healthcare personnel on both the community and national level.
Josh’s worldwide experience and knowledge that he has gained from various countries and cultures allows him to connect with patients on a personal level and provide the friendly touch that patients appreciate.
